Another post post

Waiting for my sockapaloooza socks to arrive as well as the DYE-O-RAMA swap yarn, the sight of the postman approaching with a parcel was not that surprising.

nosy parcel check-out
What is in there?
parcel content

Surprising, however, it was neither of the expected parcels but a lovely surprise from Jenn! Can you believe, she send not only one but TWO skeins of Socks That Rock yarn! One in the gorgeous colourway Ruby and one in Cobalt Bloom. She also added some cute greeting cards with a knit theme. And as if this is not enough, she included many, many Kool-Aid sachets. Yippieh! Off to more dyeing adventures! Customs showed no interest this time, maybe they marked me down as the oddball who drinks gazillion liters of unhealthy strangely coloured soft drinks.
It is so much fun to get a parcel with yarn! And at long last, am I not the only one in this house who enjoys receiving yarn deliveries.

[don't miss the mouse-over effect]

And another bonus point of this surprise parcel: the sockapaloooza socks and the DYE-O-RAMA yarn are still to come!

Now it is my turn to send out parcels. Some while ago, I asked you to help me to overcome my homesickness. I am very grateful for all your comments, I really enjoyed reading them. Common agreement on German qualities seems to be the beer and the cordiality. Probably one goes hand in hand with the other sometimes ;-)
First, I am announcing Tiffany as a winner in the freestyle category, congratulations! But second, overwhelmed by the amount of heart-warming feedback, I decided to draw two winners from the rest of you.
A little transperancy on the very scientific drawing procedure...
Winners
Congratulations go out to Laursink and Liz! I sent each of you an email so keep an eye on your spam folder. Thanks everybody for taking part!

PS. I promise, the next post will be kitten-free!

Pretty pretty yarn, you lucky girl! And I for one would like to say that there is no reason to have a kitten-free post ever. All kitten all the time!

Nafnlaus sagði...

The kitten is adorable. I hope that it will be making an appearance on your blog again soon!

Nafnlaus sagði...

But I like the kitten!
Gorgeous yarn!

Oh, and how do you do that mouse-over-effect? Is that a thing that blogger offers? Or can I do it myself?

Laura sagði...

Wow! That is a seriously cute kitten in a bag! Nice yarn too. :) I'd love to know how to do that mouseover thingy too. Tutorial! ;)

I knew I was forgetting something ... it was your contest! Crap! Anyway, I am not sure where in Germany you are from, but my parents used to live in Luxembourg, so I travelled a lot in the western part of your country. We spent a really nice weekend in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (i think i am spelling that correctly) and at Lake Eibsee. I remember some lovely hikes and also the town is so pretty. It's one of my favorite places I've visited in Europe for sure! Plus, I was extremely impressed with the offerings for breakfast in German hotels. I believe that is where I introduced my father to the joys of chocolate-hazelnut spread. :) These reminisces may not help your homesickness, especially if you are from, say, Berlin, but I did want you to know how much I loved visiting your country!

oh no! I'm so envious of the STR! Lucky you!! So I'm not a huge fan of cat posts, but this one, man! What a cute kitten!

Hey Carola! I am so glad that you are joining the Petals KAL! But I need to send you a blog invite and I can't find your email address. Would you send me an email at affiknitty at gmail dot com? Thanks!
