This cold night will turn us all to fools and madmen

What I am up to? Reading, long, long hours in a dark, stormy and rainy night.

KING LEAR: Pray, do not mock me. I am a very foolish fond old man,
KING LEAR: Fourscore and upward, not an hour more nor less;
KING LEAR: And, to deal plainly,
KING LEAR: I fear I am not in my perfect mind.
KING LEAR: Methinks I should know you, and know this man;
KING LEAR: Yet I am doubtful; for I am mainly ignorant
KING LEAR: What place this is; and all the skill I have
KING LEAR: Remembers not these garments; nor I know not
KING LEAR: Where I did lodge last night. Do not laugh at me;
KING LEAR: For (as I am a man) I think this lady
KING LEAR: To be my child Cordelia.
CORDELIA: And so I am! I am!
William Shakespeare: King Lear

I am ... a sock!
Come, come closer, step forward and meet my Cordelia.
Cordelia anklet
At first I was tempted to name this sock after the play's title or rather protagonist 'King Lear' but this old mad guy appeared unfit to lend his name to such a peachy colourful summer anklet. Regarding how tragic this whole madness thing is, not to mention the dead of Cordelia, I'm a little afraid, her faith will be that of a single sock. But who knows, she might meet a potential sister in the next play, maybe Titania?

Check out the side bar on progress. Exciting? The Rib and Cable socks are finished, the sockapla-2-za socks are almost done. I just have to weave in the ends, wash (and block?) them. And take pictures!

And thinking about Eris. I saw an offer somewhere on Bamboo yarn. Could that be something? More for a sweater maybe than a cardigan I assume. I am not sure at the moment if I want to have it too woolly.

Love the lone socklet! The colors and the picot edge really work for the anklet style. I have only done slip-stitch heels which ususally obscure the stripes--that one looks much better, maybe a short row heel? I have to try a new heel on my next sock.

Maybe you could name this sock Juliet and make her a Nurse to match? Since Romeo and Juliet could never be together they should not be parts of a pair.

I want to make Eris too--I know there is a US KAL. Try http://knitting.xaviermusketeer.com/2005knitalongs.html

Good luck!

I love that sock! Eris is on my wish list too, I'm just not sure I could di it!
