Accio Harry Potter!
Yeah well, isn't everybody excited these days?
I thought I was clever when I ordered my copy of Harry Potter online. Didn't want to wait hours in a queue around midnight to find out that all the copies are already sold. Also, I am not soooo excited, I can wait a couple of days.
However, my online dealer left me hanging a bit, though informing me right on midnight the 16th July that my copy is on its way. - Really? No sign so far...
But nevermind. There's so much stuff out there to keep oneself busy while waiting. For example I got myself sorted for one of the Hogwarts houses - and ended up in Ravenclaw:
When I saw the cute little Gryffindor scarf bookmark over at the blue blog I decided to shorten my waiting time, knitting one up myself. I couldn't find any fitting colours for Ravenclaw and therefore it is a Gryffindor scarf. Just showing support for the little heroes. (You'll find the "original" bookmark pattern and a gallery of little scarfs over here.)
So I needled along a bit this afternoon while I was waiting for an appointment, only to find out at home that my copy arrived this evening. Jippie!
The simple knitting of a scarf does not distract me from reading, so I paced along with the chapters and knitted up one stripe for each chapter.
I wonder, if I will now find the time to add the fringe before finishing the book. I surely can't do this while reading. But it works as a bookmark just like this.

Cute bookmark. I have yet to read any of the Harry Potter books, but all of the hype makes me curious. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who knits and reads at the same time!
